100th Post Giveaway: Count Your Blessings

Blog 100 giveaway coupon

I was so surprised to see that I had reached 100 posts last week. I'm always looking for a reason to celebrate, and I've had a lot of fun blogging this year -- so that can mean only one thing! It's Giveaway Time! Woo-hoo!

Blessings Giveaway

The Giveaway:

I love Thanksgiving, and "count your blessings" is one of my favorite proverbs. So, I've gathered a few things for the giveaway that represent some of the blessings I'm thankful for:

Family: a family shadow-box style frame

Food: Simple and Delicious cooking magazine and a "Best Loved Cookies and Bars" book (just in time for holiday baking!)

Shopping  Abundance: $25 Target gift card

The Rules:

If you'd like to be in the drawing for the Count Your Blessings package, just leave a comment on this post by 10:00pm (MST) Thursday, November 13th.

In your comment, tell me a Thanksgiving tradition your family has, and then tell me a blessing you're thankful for.

Please make sure in your comment that I have some way to reach you if you win! If you have a blog link that I can follow to an email address, great. If you don't have a blog, but read this one, then include your email address (all spelled out  (so the spammers won't find you) like this:  somebody[at]somethingmail[dot]com.)

I'll enter you twice if you advertise this giveaway on your blog. Grab the giveaway button if you want...

I'll draw a name and announce the winner on Friday, November 14th!
Good luck!

Woo-hoo so fun! Enter my name for sure. That's an adorable frame. As far as Thanksgiving traditons, I don't know that we really have any. We alternate between my family and my hubby's every other year and have a nice diner. Sometimes we build our Christmas ginger bread houses and usually watch the Macey's parade. It's mostly a time for much needed relaxation. But I do have many things I am thankful for, health family, freedom, religion, being a mother, the list could go on and on. Thanks for doing a giveaway, I'll post about probably tomorrow.

How exciting! Wow! Not one gift-- but three! I hope I win!

Thanksgiving tradition. Well, each time we move, we do something different for Thanksgiving. Guess we won't be going to the beach this year...(: I'm actually really excited to start the Thanks and the Giving Tree idea you made me aware of.

I like the idea of counting blessings AND giving service all month long. I can see this becoming a great family tradition.

Things I'm grateful for: laughter, second chances, a nearby library, the unconditional love of family and I've-got-your-back-friends. And above all else-- God, who is the giver of all good things.

You know where to find me, sis. And FYI--I blogged your contest.

Count me in! Cory's family has a tradition of making Stovetop stuffing for Thanksgiving...and I am thankful that I don't do that tradition. On the serious side...I am thankful for so many blessings..health, strength, children without health problems, faith, family that lifts me up when I need it and temple marriage. Our tradition is that we take Cranberry relish to our closest friends and to the cafeteria ladies at the boys' school. Also after dinner we draw names for Christmas.

I think you are great Wendy for doing such a wonderful blog. I agree with Rebekah, it is like sipping hot cocoa at night. (I will go further and say it is like sipping Stephen's Raspberry Hot Chocolate) Love you (and tell Katie she is doing a great blog too!) Debbie

In my husband's family they always make pomegranate salad.

I am thankful for friends.

Congratulations on reaching 100 posts! What a great idea for a giveaway. Thanksgiving for us is a big family affair every year. I don't have siblings, so hubby and I just merge our families together. We usually go out of town. Sometimes the whole family goes to my sis in law's house in So Cal, but sometimes we all just go away somewhere together. Last year we all stayed in a big house together by Disneyland. The big day we spend cooking ALL DAY! Everyone takes part in the cooking. After dinner, we play board games every year. This year we're all going to San Diego together. I'm really looking forward to it!

One thing I am thankful for is my (and my husband's) family. I am thankful that we all like each other enough to want to spend a whole week together!

Count me in! I love Thanksgiving too and what it stands for. I am so incredibly Thankful so many things in my life but most of all my family and extended family. Top of my list are my children and husband. There isn't a day I'm not thankful to have my children - their births were truly dreams come true for me and nothing will ever top that. ;-)

As for traditions...our family doesn't really have a Thanksgiving tradition other than going around the table and naming something they are thankful for. I LOVE the idea of giving service or doing random acts of kindness all month long though. I like that thought so much that I'm going to do a little something for Tristan's teachers tomorrow. :-)

I'm Rebekah's friend from way back in the high school days. Looks like an awesome blog here. :)

In my family the Thanksgiving tradition is pies. Lots of them. As in, 15 or so for one family. We practically eat pie morning, noon and night for the whole week. Sooo good!

What am I thankful for? How long do you have? I'm thankful for a wonderful husband and three beautiful sons, color, music, seasons, the Holy Ghost, avocados, classic literature, legos, volleyball, full tummies, sushi, the beauty and variety of languages, democracy, and a million other things. :)
Thanks for the giveaway!

Congrats on 100! I love this time of year too! On Thanksgiving we try to just gather as many people as possible into one room and eat, eat, eat!

Hi Wendy -

First, congratulations on reaching your 100th post! Seems like just yesterday that you were a newbie in blogland. Not any more! Thanks for sharing yourself with all of us.

Since I've remarried and moved to California, my sister and her friend usually come here to spend Thanksgiving with my new family. My 20-something stepdaughters adore them both, so it's fun for all of us. And isn’t that what the holiday is all about - being together as a family?

And that, of course, is the one thing I'm most grateful for: family (which includes a handful of good friends, too!) The people in my life are my greatest blessing.

Since we both love quotes, I’ll close with one for you:

You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them. ~ Desmond Tutu

Egad - my post makes it sound like I have 20+ stepdaughters! I meant to say 20-something-year-old stepdaughters!! VERY different! LOL!

I am thankful for my husband and warm home, my two children who bring so much joy into my life, and my big pueso German Sheperd guard dog who always makes me laugh.

We love to cook Thanksgiving Dinner together, my husband and I. We take special care that the Turky is prepared just right and the stuffing is always our favorite part. Spending time together with family is my favorite part of Thanksgiving.

My family always participates in a community choir in Rexburg, ID that is so incredible. We always feel the spirit there while singing/listening to the worshipful music. It is a great way to start a day full of gratitude. I am thankful for the Thanksgiving holiday as I always have such a full heart (not to mention a full tummy!). It is a good feeling that I look forward to every year! my email is ckmessick(at)gmail(dot)com

Wow! What an uplifting blog! Elena sent me this way, and I really enjoyed reading your fabulous posts!

Okay - some things I'm grateful for include my boys (my hubby, and my two darling sons), my health, my knowledge of God, and the wonderful relationships I have with my family and my in-laws.

A tradition: We always have gone to the ranch in Wyo. to get our Christmas tree, the day after Thanksgiving, and then decorate it as a family. This year, we're getting it in Idaho, but it will be just as fun and joyous!

Happy Hundreth Post!

P.S. What a wonderful idea! I think I'll do a givaway, too!

Happy 100th! This sounds like fun!

Traditions: when I was growing up, the tradition was to have the turkey dinner and then my birthday cake as part of dessert because I'm a late November baby. :) Now that I'm several states away from home, I celebrate each year with dh's family. We drive out to the farm where an aunt and uncle live and it's truly a family reunion in addition to Thanksgiving. I love visiting with everyone and seeing these urban/suburban second cousins playing out on the farm.

Blessings: For a precious family and a steady job (so far!) and for so many firsts this year: first teeth lost by J, first days of school (Kindergarten and preschool), first time DH and I became uncle and aunt, etc. Guess family is my theme here!

Happy 100th post. I just past 200 myself. I have a private blog, found you thru Elena. willhappybunchdotblogspotdotcom

I love your give away prizes so cute, so I can't resist putting my name in.

Our thanksgiving tradtition is a funny one. Black olives on the fingers. Every year we count our blessings and eat an olive off our fingers. The kids are always the cutest!

I am so thankful for my family! My number one blessing. A kind, loving family!

So funny that Julie (Willyhappymama) commented. I keep saying to my husband, I'll bet Julie and Wendy would make great friends. Plus you live somewhat near each other.

Hey, found you through Elena...your things are so cute! What a nice idea! For Thanksgiving our family does the traditional dinner with family, playing games, watching football and movies. But, I am a huge "black Friday" fan, so I get up bright and early (3 am) the day after, and away I go! I am most grateful this time of year for my family and that we have a warm place to live, clothes to wear and food to eat! Thanks!

I love a give away! I found you on Elena's blog. Our Thanksgiving tradtion is to try and serve something that is rather un-traditional. I am just not a big fan of thanksgiving foods. So, I try to put something in the mix that makes you go, huh? Like shrimp scampi. Or lasagna. Or couscous. Everyone always wonders what the strange item will be!

Oops...I forgot the things I am thankful for. How about health, happiness, and employment :-)

I want to win something too.

One of our Thanksgiving traditions is to watch a family movie together like the Polar Express or some of the Christmas movies, then we make gingerbread cookies together. I love that we just get to have a day where nothing really needs to happen except that we are together and everything that we are doing is centered around family.

I am truly grateful my little family, my health, my husband and his good job, for friends that are more then that they are family. I am grateful for this country for our freedoms and for all the things that we take for granted. I am also grateful for the upcoming holidays that help us to remember others that are less fortunate. It could go on and on but I have many things to be grateful for.
Good idea and enjoy your 100th post. It is amazing how quickly it comes.
